Celtic fans are being offered a chance to get their hands on the ultimate private registration number which pays tribute to the 1967 European Cup exploits of the ‘Lisbon Lions’.
The team which made it through to the final of that competition was made up entirely of players from within 30 miles of Celtic Park and they shocked the footballing world by beating fancied Inter Milan in Lisbon, thus becoming the first British side to become European champions.
The DVLA-released plate is a definite nod in the direction of Celtic’s huge achievement that year and it has never before been seen on a motor vehicle, having been held on retention since its release.
Nevertheless it has now been released onto the market and one lucky Celtic fan can get his hands on it should he cough-up the £12,000 asking price.
The registration number has been listed with an asking price of £12,345 but the seller has invited ‘serious email offers’ for this number.
Clearly this is a must-have item for any Celtic fan given that 1967 is undoubtedly their most momentous year and HH is seen as being synonymous with the Celtic chant ‘Hail Hail’.
